100% Pinot Nero (aka Pinot Noir) from estate vineyards on limestone and clay soils in Castelnuovo Berardenga in Tuscany. All stainless steel. Fruity and fun, with an aromatic nose of strawberry, watermelon, peach and flowers. Juicy, smooth and round, with a bit more body than most rosés and just a hint of creaminess in the texture. There’s plenty of acidity keeping things fresh. A fun wine by itself, with goat’s milk cheeses or salmon. In the late 1990s, the Bolfo family decided to breathe new life into the ruins of an old monastery turning into the Vallepicciola winery and the prestigious 5-star Hotel Le Fontanelle. The 650 acre property has centuries-old woods intertwining with more than 4,000 olive trees and 265 acres of vines.
