This is truly a summer red perfect for a slight chill on a hot summer day. On the nose, the wine offers a range of fruity and floral scents, including raspberry, cherry, and violets, with a hint of spice. The mouth feel is medium-bodied, with soft tannins and refreshing acidity that balance the fruit-forward flavors. Dry but jammy, juicy, soft and bright as a result of the cabronic maceration. Chill this down and have it with a pizza or anything off the grill. Adult Hawaiian Punch!!
Union Sacré is one of the most unique wineries on the Central Coast. Devoted to Alsance varieties only thing that can be said is it is treading a new path. While other chase more mainstream things, this label, with its French born and raised winemaker, is doing things in a different way. Xavier Arnaudin studied winemaking in France and was supposed to go to Argentina for his first international winemaking internship. However, due to an unfortunate happening, he ended up in Paso Robles. Since arriving, he has never looked back. Made by two long-time friends, Xavier and Philip, who arrived at the Central Coast from opposite ends of the Earth. Xavier is a WSET certified, Oenology degree holder from France, Philip is a self-taught designer from Michigan who kind of misses living in a van. Between the two of them, Xavier and Philip have 25+ years of experience working in Central Coast wineries.
92 points, Wine Enthusiast. "This predominantly white-wine house puts out a couple vibrant reds like this one, which entices the nose with raspberry, pomegranate, rose petal and peppercorn aromas. The palate is brisk with strawberry and yuzu flavors."
