100% Pinot Noir, mostly from Casablanca with a little from the Leyda Valley. The grapes are hand picked by local farmers and their families rather earlier in the season looking for a fresher style; the winemaking process is simple and with low intervention. The wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks and after is aged with selected neutral French oak for almost 6 months. Low filtration is used trying to maintain its tannins and structure.
Light cherry red in color, with a moderately intense nose of rose petals, strawberry and cherry fruit with a little hint of cedar. The wine is light in body, with a fresh, juicy and expressive character. Easy going, with mellow acidity. Great value on a varietally correct Pinot.
This project was started in 2015 by husband and wife team Vincente Johnson and Bernadita Court, both native Chileans. With experience in various aspects of the wine industry, they wanted to strike out on their own AND pay respect to the people and resources of their homeland. They looked for small grape growers located in privileged terroirs of the Andes, both in Chile and Argentina. They work using long term contracts only with grape growers that are fully dedicated to their vineyards and who are willing to assure the quality and consistency of their fruit and farming practices. They are a certified B Corp.
