100% organic Cinsault sourced from the Bechtold Vineyard- the 138 year old, dry farmed, head trained, allegedly the oldest Cinsault vineyard in the world and possibly the oldest vineyard in California. Native yeast fermentation, aged in neutral oak, and bottled unfined and unfiltered with minimal sulphur. The wine is floral, perfumed and light bodied. Gorgeous ruby color with juicy strawberry, raspberry, and cherry flavors alongside earthy spice. Nicole Walsh is a Santa Cruz legend- she has worked with Randall Graham at Bonny Doon since 2001 and still manages the Popelouchum property, just outside of San Juan Bautista. This is her personal project, focused on coastal vineyards, unusual varietals and minimal cellar intervention.
