100% organic, hand harvested, estate Chenin Blanc from 40 year old vines. About 20% of the wine is transferred to age in 10-year-old barriques for 10 months on the lees. No sulfites are added until just before bottling, ensuring the preservation of the wine’s natural character. A perfect demonstration of how Sébastien makes some of the most taut yet expressive wines of all Vouvray. The Cuvée name comes the first year of production, 2007, when all the fruit came from a single parcel sized “one Arpent”, which is an old French unit of measure, just under half a hectare. Clean and dry in style with yellow orchard fruits, bright acidity, and chalky minerality typical of Vouvray. Mineral, elegant, fresh and user-friendly.
Sebastien Brunet and his wife, Geraldine, bottle classic, clean, mineral, "restaurant style" Vouvray. Everything is certified organic. Be it sec, methode traditionelle, pet nat or late harvest, the wines are always mineral, elegant, decidedly user friendly, and priced to sell. In addition to effortlessly enjoyable and consistent wines, this is some of the more serious organic farming we’ve encountered in Vouvray.
