50% Arinto, 35% Azal, 15% Trajadura; farmed in the Basto sub-region. Hand harvested. The wine is made using a low-pressure pressing method, followed by alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel vats at controlled temperatures. Before bottling, the wine is carefully filtered and cold-stabilized. 11.5% alcohol.
This attractive, fruity and light wine is classic, just slightly spritzy Vinho Verde. Its lime sherbet flavor is lifted by bright acidity and a fine, zesty texture. Fruity but not sweet- just delicately off-dry. Perfect as an aperitif or as an accompaniment to salads, vegetables, sushi and seafood.
Quinta da Raza is a family business with a history spanning four centuries, remaining in the hands of the Teixeira Coelho family, now led by Diogo Teixeira Coelho, the fifth generation. Following the death of his grandfather, Inácio Xavier de Barros Teixeira Coelho, in 1987, Diogo began his journey as a winemaker. The potential of the land, combined with his passion for agriculture and the world of wines, motivated him to commit himself with enthusiasm and dedication to the necessary restructuring of the estate’s wine production. Since then, Diogo has focused on producing exceptional wines, continuing the passion his ancestors had for this remarkable craft. He quickly recognized the unique winemaking characteristics of the Basto region and has successfully infused them into the innovative and bold character of Quinta da Raza wines.
