100% organic and dry farmed Fiano from volcanic soils. Fermented with native yeasts and aged simply in stainless steel. Bottled unfined and unfiltered with very low (40ppm) sulphur additions. 12% alcohol.
This easy-going, clean and fresh natural wine shows off lemon-lime fruit, with a light to medium body, tons of citrusy freshness on the palate, and a soft, supple mouthfeel. There’s a hint of herbs, minerals and an almost Grüner Veltliner-like white pepper note as well. Great as an aperitif or with seafood dishes like pasta alle vongole, grilled branzino or fritto misto.
Poggio delle Baccanti is located in Sant’Antonio Abate, next to Naples in the Penisola Sorrentina, overlooking Mt Vesuvius. They have been making Neapolitan wines for 3 generations and specialize in Gragnano, Lacryma Christi Bianco, and Lacryma Christi Rosso. The winery farms organically and wines are all made with extremely low amounts of sulphur. The winery was founded in the 195os by Raffaele La Mura. Raffaele, the son of a winemaker, began at a young age to produce and market wine with his brother Paolo. Accumulated the necessary experience, he subsequently decided to start his own business by taking an interest in the various grape varieties of Campania and dedicating himself in particular to the production of Gragnano and Vesuvian wines. Now, his son Giovanni and nephew Raffaele run the estate.
