100% Chardonnay, all done in stainless steel. The fruit comes from old, dry-farmed, head trained vines on this 30 acre estate in Gilroy at the foot of Hecker Pass- the oldest Grenache vines on the property were planted in 1910! Light, crisp and refreshing, this shows off zesty aromas and flavors of citrus, green apple and pear. Pure Chardonnay flavor with no oak on top, this finishes clean and fresh, with juicy acidity. Pairs well with lightly seasoned dishes, chicken, shellfish, and salads. Managed by George Besson Jr., and his lead foreman of 20+ years, Michael Alvarado, the vineyard is owned by the Besson’s family fourth generation of brothers: George, Denis, Joe and Jeff. It’s a historic estate first purchased by George’s grandfather Jean Augustine, who emigrated to the Bay Area from France in the early 1900s and bought the property in 1925.
