100% certified organic Syrah from a single plot on granite soils at 1200’ in altitude that lies alongside the Château de Chavagnac. Macerated, fermented, and aged for six months in concrete. No sulfur until bottling. Very pretty and pure Syrah nose of purple violets, brambly berries, olive compote and crushed rose petal. The granite makes itself known on the palate with a decidely lean mineral streak. Medium bodied, with excellent acidity and very fine tannins. The Farge name isn’t new to the Northern Rhone; Thomas’ family has been making wine in Saint-Joseph for four generations. After returning home in 2018 after spending 10 years in South America, Thomas has started his own venture.
