100% Riesling from the Brauneberger Juffer ineyard. Named for a former nunnery located on the site, this renowned Grosse Lage is comprised of blue Devonian slate with iron inclusions and nearly due south exposition. There are ungrafted vines in the vineyard that are over 70 years old. This vineyard is extremely steep at 85% at its most extreme. Lieser’s holding are from the best parcels in the middle section or “filet piece” of the vineyard.
95 points, James Suckling. "Very cool and delicate with a remarkable concentration of slatey character packed into this sleek silhouette. Super elegant palate with racy brilliance that lights up the sky. Extremely precise and detailed finish with mountain air freshness. From organically grown grapes with Fair'n Green certification. Drink or hold."
