100% organic Syrah. Located on Hwy 246, 11 miles west of Buellton, this site is kept extremely cool by the northwest winds blowing off the Pacific, just 12 miles away. Fog graces the vineyard most mornings; followed by cool ocean breezes and bright sunny afternoons. The vineyard sits at a relatively low elevation of 367 feet in sandy soils that help keep yields low and flavors concentrated. 50% whole cluster with a pied de cuve added at day five. Native yeasts only, bottled unfined and unfiltered with minimal sulphur. Only 12.8% alcohol.
94 points, Wine Enthusiast. "Fresh and rocky on the nose, this bottling blends black raspberry and crumbled lavender aromas with hits of ash, graphite and granite. The palate is zippy and textural, carrying raspberry and black plum flavors through black pepper, wild herb and light game elements. Drink now–2042." — Matt Kettmann
