100% Cabernet Sauvignon from the famed Massa Vineyard, perched above the Cachagua region of Carmel Valley at 1300 feet above sea level, the vine roots descend deep into the sandy, loamy soil in search of underground “Cachagua” (hidden water) springs. This estate was a pioneer location of organic vineyard farming in the 1980’s. It’s current stewards continue to prioritize holistic management through cover cropping, composting, beneficial insect management, and water conservation. Fully destemmed, fermented with native yeasts in open top containers, and aged for 9 months in neutral French oak barrels. Bottled unfined and unfiltered with minimal sulphur additions, like all Madson wines. Decant to en joy now or cellar 10 - 15 years for savoring at its peak. 1164 bottles produced, 13.1% alcohol.
