100% organic Chardonnay (uncertified). Tillets is a lieu-dit found towards the top of the two hills of Meursault, a steep site just above Genévrières and Poruzots. If you’re a Roulot drinker, you may already be familiar with this consistently overperforming high-altitude site. The rocky soils at the top of the slope here translate into an especially mineral, smoky wine that drinks well above its level. Custard and citrus are the best ways to describe this beautiful expression of Meursault, which so rarely lets us down. There is richness here with a beautiful wallop of lemony citrus to even things out. A true family enterprise, brothers Philippe and Christophe Jomain, along with sister Catherine, launched this Chardonnay-focused Cote de Beaune domain in 1992 with vines inherited from their father, Marc.
