100% organic Chasselas (locally named Fendant) from 45+ year old vines on glacial moraine and slate soils in the village of Vétroz. Native yeast fermentation in steel. 12.1% alcohol. We don’t get to drink Swiss wines very often because the Swiss don’t let much leave the country! We love these light, fresh, zingy wines- they drink like alpine spring water. Delicate, crisp and clean, with apple, pear and canteloupe fruit with light spice and floral notes alongside rocky mountain minerality. Jean-René and his nephew Gilles Besse have been farming organically for nearly 20 years and still make the wine in the ancient 1896-era cellar. For the past five years Gilles and Jean-René have been farming in accordance with Bio Suisse—an achievement only three wineries in Switzerland can claim.
