100% certified organic and impeccably farmed Pinot Noir. Fermented with native yeasts and aged in wood tanks with a minimum of 2/3 whole cluster inclusion. The wine stays in tank for 10-12 days, so as to add extra skin tannins and just a little tannin from the seeds and stems. Fruit for ‘La Fortune’ comes from younger vines, leading to easy-drinking wines meant to be consumed in their youth. Floral aromas of violets and dried roses mingle with strawberry and expand on the palate, with more savory notes of earth and black tea. The persistent finish is bolstered by fine tannins and a mineral core. This is the personal estate of Aubert de Villaine, the illustrious man behind Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, and his wife Pamela. Aubert’s nephew Pierre de Benoist now runs the estate.
