100% Pinot Noir hand picked from 3 acres of vines on calcareous limestone soils . Destemmed, fermented in wooden vats, and aged in just a tiny amount of new oak. Light to medium bodied, fresh and lively, with a nice balance of fruit, wood and structure. It has an intense P0mmard nose of red cherries, blueberry, anise and spice. High acidity and medium tannins ensure that this wine will show its best after a few years in the cellar or an hour in a decanter. Patrick and Virginie Virely are the fourth generation of their family to farm in Pommard, and now own 22 acres of prime holdings in Pommard, Beaune and Meursault. This is really an excellent value for pure Pommard flavor.
