100% certified organic Chardonnay from parcels in Chaintré (roughly 70%) and Solutré. The 500-meter high limestone escarpment of La Roche de Solutré is located at the heart of the appellation and towers over the vineyards below. Native yeast fermentation entirely in stainless steel, but with the long (often two years) of lees aging gives you the textures, richness and even nutty notes that suggest oak aging. Bottled unfined and unfiltered. 800 cases made. Aromas and flavors of lemon, pear, peach, tangerine and toasted hazelnut shine brightly and lead into a finish that is rich, toasty and long. Husband and wife team Sylvaine & Alain Normand, along with their son Thomas, run the estate, which now covers 86 acres. Though they sell some of their harvest to négociants, which is common in their region, they keep the best for their own wines.
