100% sustainably farmed Pinot Noir from 50 year old vines on gravel and clay soils. The fruit sees a cold soak before fermentation in stainless steel tanks, with gentle punchdowns. Aged in neutral French oak.
This is an uncomplicated yet pure Pinot Noir that is fruity, refreshing and smooth. Vibrant black cherry, raspberry fruits with a little violet purple flower. Taut, dry palate with notes of sour cherry, red berries and a little earthiness. Excellent value.
Founded in 2015 by Carrie and Philippe Marchal, who both worked in the wine business in New York City before moving to a tiny village in the middle of the farmlands and vineyards of France with their two daughters, Lucienne and Emilie. (Lulumi is a combination of the French nicknames for the girls, Lulu and Mimi). The history of Vin de Pays d’Oc wines can be traced back to the 5th century, when the Greeks planted the first vineyards near Narbonne. Along with parts of Provence, these are considered to be France’s oldest vineyards.
