51% Merlot and 49% Cabernet Franc, all organically grown. This right bank style Merlot & Cab Franc combination has the flavors appreciated by Bordeaux lovers all the while presented in a modern drinkable California style. Local legend Marty Mathis of Kathryn Kennedy Winery has been crafting this wine with Chris Condos of Horse & Plow Winery since 1988, and it has always represented one of the best values from Napa. 2021 was a wonderful vintage! The Cab Franc gives gorgeous cigar leaf and mature herbal shadings while the Merlot contributes shaved chocolate and juicy red cherries with just enough vanilla oak notes… distinctly Napa Valley, in character but not in a masculine way; as always, an ideal food wine allying its potential as a cellar candidate.
