93-95 points, Jeb Dunnuck. "Offers more classic Syrah character in its ripe blue fruits, black cherries, roasted herbs, and spice-driven aromatics. It's another full-bodied, powerful wine in the lineup delivering terrific balance as well as the firmer, chewy, yet ripe tannins of the vintage."
Winemaker notes: "Beautiful sexy richness. Great lift and energy while also being polished and refined. A finish that goes on for days. This sees more new oak than the other 2020s. Probably my favorite of these 2020s, but that's a personal thing. Heather says she likes the Heart Stone best, so your mileage may vary! I'm sure many of you have heard the woes of 2020. Fires devastated the entire West Coast of the U.S. Nobody was spared, but fortunately the vineyards of Paso were not hit too hard. The closest fire to us was up in Monterey County, which is about 90 miles north. Nonetheless, we approached the 2020 vintage very carefully in the cellar by running every possible type of analysis to detect damage from the smoke that was occasionally thick in the air that summer. Although a couple of the lots were suspect, everything else was clean. Phew!"
