100% Nebbiolo, from a three acre vineyard planted in 1965 and farmed organically (uncertified) just north of Monforte d’Alba. Aged in 225-liter barrels (20% new) and large Slavonian oak cask before being bottled unfined and unfiltered. 450 cases made. Incredibly aromatic and earthy nose of dried flowers, raspberry, strawberry, menthol, clove, cinnamon and leather. Slightly more full bodied and tannic than the San Pietro. Already drinking well but will age for another 15-20 years easily. Podere Ruggeri Corsini is a family project between husband and wife team Nicola and Loredana Argamante and their two daughters, who are both in their 20s. They farm 25 acres of vineyards in the Barolo zone and make wine with minimal intervention. Great values.
