This is the estate’s top wine, made only in the best years. 100% Barbera, farmed organically (uncertified) on 4.4 acres of vines planted in 1947 and 1959. Hand picked. Native ferments. Aged in Slavonian casks and 500L barrels for 18 months. 750 cases made. The word Armujan is dialect for apricot trees; one of these old hillside parcels once supported an orchard. Medium bodied, smooth, dense and flavor-packed, this shows off notes of plum, tobacco, earth, leather , dusty herbs and oak seamlessly melded together into a velvety mouthfeel with high acidity and mellow, mouth-coating tannins. Podere Ruggeri Corsini is a family project between husband and wife team Nicola and Loredana Argamante and their two daughters, who are both in their 20s. They farm 25 acres of vineyards in the Barolo zone and make wine with minimal intervention. Great values.
