2020 Meadowcroft GSM Blend 'River Trace'

48% Syrah, 12% Grenache, 12% Mourvédre, 4% Malbec, 24% Carignane. One-quarter of the blend was in French oak and one-tenth in American. 14$ alcohol. 403 cases made. Ripe and rich, with a great interplay between dark fruit and spice. Bold notes of ripe plum, blueberry, pepper, coffee, black cherry, vanilla and cloves. Medium bodied and smooth, with perfectly balanced medium acidity and mellow tannins. Great by itself or with bold foods.  While Tom Meadowcroft made his name planning vineyards and pruning vines for some of the most iconic properties in California—names like Opus One, Cakebread, Duckhorn, Stags Leap—he always dreamed of founding his own project based on these principles.
