BRAND NEW VINTAGE!
At the young age of 17, Luca Fedrigo began his winemaking career under the tutelage of legendary producer, Guiseppe Quintarelli. Giuseppe offered him an apprenticeship at his prestigious winery. In 1998, after 11 years of diligent practice, and with the support of Quintarelli, Luca decided to form his own winery, L’Arco. Luca is an uncompromsing perfectionist. His wines are of the highest quality - and cost a mere FRACTION of his former mentor's wines. These are very special wines and not widely available in the US. 50% Corvina and Corvinone, 40% Rondinella, 10% Molinara. Fermented in steel tanks with native yeast and allowed to settle for 6 months before transferring to large botti for an additional 22 months. Minimal sulfur added, delicate filtering to prevent refermentation and maintain stability in the finished product. Sweet tobacco, dried flowers, leather and licorice meld together nicely in this attractive, medium-bodied red. The finish is long, juicy and beautifully expressive. Sweet tobacco, cedar, plum, cocoa and wild herbs all flesh out nicely.
