100% Sangiovese. Aged 12 months in French oak barriques and big barrels. Lornano is a boutique winery owned by the same family since 1904. It’s located on south west hills of Castellina in Chianti on the border between Castellina and Monteriggioni. The winery was built up around the old church of Lornano in the fifteen century. The property extends over 444 acres of which 121 are planted with vines. Intense and concentrated ruby red color. Fine and elegant bouquet, characterized by ripe red fruit and floral notes accompanied by hints of spices. The sip brings out all its freshness, balanced by very well integrated tannins. A stylish Sangiovese with long and persistent finish. Chianti Classico pairs best with heaty Italian dishes featuring tomato sauce, such as Spaghetti and Meatballs, Lasagna, Chicken Parmesan, Baked Ziti, Pizza, and Bruschetta.
92 points, James Suckling. "Herbs, tomato leaves, brambleberries and roasted chestnuts on the nose. Medium-bodied with grainy tannins and a firm, savory finish. A little austere, but persistent and structured. Drink from 2023."
