100% sustainably grown Chardonnay from a 4.5 acre vineyard on clay-schist soils. Although Loché is the smallest of the three Pouilly appellations, this vineyard is important Laurent because it was the first one he got from his grandparents. Hand picked, gently pressed, and aged half in old 500L French oak and half in stainless steel. Unfined and unfiltered. In the cellar, Laurent upholds Burgundian tradition but brings his own nod to modernity. Delicious and excellent value on this white Burg from a lesser known appellation. Aromas and flavors of ripe orchard fruit (pears, golden apples) underscored by fresh lemony citrus, with well-integrated barrel notes of toasted hazelnut and clove. Medium bodied and very fresh, with just a hint of creaminess in the texture. Very balanced and elegant.
