100% Pinot Blanc from the famous La Encantada Vineyard, planted by Richard Sanford in 2000. Ryan works with one block of Pinot Blanc growing at a lower, more shaded elevation. Part of this wine is aged in 500-liter sandstone clay jars (amphora), as well as steel barrels and one-year oak barrels. ML is blocked and after eight months of aging the wine is racked into steel assemblage tanks for another two months. Bottled unfined and unfiltered with minimal sulphur.
93 points, Wine & Spirits. "Simply a joyous white from Ryan Deovlet, who gets an allotment of pinot blanc from La
Encantada, a small block tucked into the mesa protected from the sun until late morning, which makes it a slow-ripening site delivering wines of remarkable nerve and mineral tension. This one leads with lifted scents of lemon, lime and white flower petals, along with a whiff of peach. The flavors are electric, crisped up by malic acidity into a thrillingly tense, chalk driven finish."
