100% Sauvignon Blanc grapes grown in the flinty, gun-smoke-scented soils of Pouilly Fume, just across the river from Sancerre. All stainless steel for fermentation and aging. 12.5% alcohol. Light, dry and crisp, with classic high-toned aromas of floral-tinged citrus fruit accented by chalk notes. High acid but not overly racy or tangy, iwth ripe citrus fruit and a long, crushed stone finish. Founded in 1396, Chateau de Tracy has been in the hands of Comte Henri d’Assay’s family for 610 years, which is something of an achievement in itself. Located in the village of Tracy sur Loire the estate covers 80 acres under vine, on flint and kimmeridgian limestone south west facing slopes overlooking the Loire. With an average age of twenty four years the vines produce significantly lower yields than is the norm in the appellation, making for wines of great intensity.
