60% Nebbiolo, 35% Syrah and 15% Barbera, all organically farmed from the Alisos Vineyard in the new Alisos Canyon AVA in Santa Barbara County, in a special spot located just south of Los Alamos between Highway 101 and Foxen Canyon. The fruit was cofermented with native yeasts. Light in color but medium bodied, as Nebbiolo-based wines should be! On the nose, Nebbiolo’s dusty rose and cranberry aromas are balanced by Syrah’s earthy side. This is a richly textured wine with plenty of fresh fruit on the bright end of the spectrum. Winemaker Alison Thomson handcrafts small amounts of Italian & French varietals for his side project, named after her grandfather. Her day job is making the wine and running the show for Two Wolves, Pink’s winery.
