90% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Merlot from the Pine Mountain Vineyard, 3,000 feet above sea level on rocky, volcanic granite soils. Hand harvested and destemmed, with extended skin maceration. Native fermentations and minimal SO2. 21 months in 40% new French oak. 14.2% alcohol. 1500 cases made. Unbelievably deep and opaque, this wine presents a bouquet of freshly picked raspberries that immediately captivates, along with notes of cola spice, violets, blueberry pie, and subtle hints of brown sugar. On the palate, rich flavors of raspberry compote, cassis, and milk chocolate emerge, complemented by warm pepper and spice box accents. The wine showcases substantial, mountainous tannins that promise to age beautifully in the cellar.
