100% Primitivo from a two-acre vineyard block on the Di Arie estate vineyard in Plymouth. Made in the old Italian “Submerged cap” maceration style. Aged in French oak for 18 months. 14.4% alcohol. Dark fruit aromas which carry to the palate adding blackberry and black cherry flavors. The sustained finish adds more structure and complexity with spicy nuances. This wine has a perfect balance between the fruit, the acid and tannins. Winemaker and owner Chaim Gur-Arieh was previously a food technologist who created Cap’n Crunch Cereal, Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing and the Power Bar! After retiring, they bought 209-acre parcel of land between the south and middle forks of the Cosumenes River in the Shenandoah Valley of the Sierra Foothills and planted 42 acres themselves.
