A blend of Nero di Troia and Sangiovese, all farmed organically. Vineyards are trained using Guyot and traditional Apulian pergola with low yields for the area. Gently crushed and macerated on the skins for eight days. Aged 7 months in stainless steel before bottling. 13.5% alcohol.
Tasting Notes
A fresh, fruit filled wine with rich, ripe aromas of cherries, forest fruits and hints of violets. These fruit flavors follow on to the soft, rounded medium-bodied palate and the overall impression is of easy drinking softness and a light, breezy texture. There’s plenty of earthy, leathery notes accenting the fruit to make you belive you’re sitting in the rustic Puglian countryside. A cheerful, unpretentious red that’s perfect for sipping solo or pairing with all sorts of comforting dishes, especially a piping hot pizza or bowl of bolognese. Fantastic value!
About Antica Enotria
The wine estate Antica Enotria is one of those tucked-away gems that Puglia does so well. The di Tuccio family, with their lovingly restored farmhouse, have quietly embraced organic practices since 1993. This isn’t just about wine, but a whole-estate approach; expect their own tomatoes and olive oil alongside bottles. They champion local grapes - think bold Nero di Troia, juicy Primitivo, even a splash of Sangiovese. There’s a real sense of place here, of working with the sun-baked Puglian land, not against it. A small producer and one with a real heart.
