100% Pinot Noir. Native yeast ferments. Aged for 12 months in a combination of one new Austrian oak barrel and three neutral barrels. 90 cases made. 14.1% alcohol. Temperance Hill Vineyard is an esteemed site in the Willamette Valley, planted in 1980 over an extinct volcano in a warmer microclimate. The elevation, half moon bowl aspect which traps in daylight warmth, coupled with very cool evenings, all comes together to create the legendary acidity Temperance Hill wines have, all the while still demonstrating deep intensity and complete phenolic ripeness. The “Trois” Pinot Noir is a classic example with lush, perfectly ripe fruit, spicy tones, and just a hint of resinous herbs. Full bodied for Pinot, it still has plenty of lift and freshness, the special signature of this site. Drink now or over the next ten years.
