100% organic (uncertified) Pinot Meunier from a single , 60 year old vineyard in the village of Mardeuil in the Vallée de la Marne. Fermented and aged in demi-muids, with full malolactic. Aged 36 months on the lees and bottled with no dosage. This twenty-acre family estate is now run by the fourth generation of the Gamet family, Marianne, along with assistance from her brother Jean-François. In addition to tending grape vines, Marianne and her brother also produce excellent ciders from eight old apple varieties.
93 points, Vinous. "The 2018 Brut Nature Les Heurte-Loups is a powerful, expressive Champagne. All the weight of the old vines here (planted in Mardeuil by François Gamet in 1965), along with vinification and aging sur lie in oak for ten months, yields an especially resonant, ample Meunier. Dried pear, chamomile, ginger, cinnamon, dried apricot and yellow flowers build nicely with some coaxing. Attractive floral and nutty overtones linger on the close. Non-dosé. Disgorged: July, 2022."
