Only 216 cases of this stunning high end Vermentino were produced. The blend is 15% Vermentino, 15% Malvasia Lunga di Candia, 15% Albarola, 15% Trebbiano Rosa, with the remainder being a field blend of varieties, including Bracciola, Rossese, Verduzzo, Verdello, and Grello, all harvested late from old vines rooted in sandy and calcareous soil. Picked by hand and fermented with only native yeast, this wine sees 20 days of skin maceration and 8 months aging on the lees to contribute to its unique rich texture.
Crazy complex, with a rich, unctuous texture and lots of crisp apple and pineapple fruit, a viscous texture and long, lingering acidity on a mineral-laden finish. This is very food friendly- try it with fried chicken!
