100% sustainably farmed Aglianico sourced from the single Contrada Campore vineyard at 1500’ elevation. Fermented in stainless steel and aged for 12 months in French barriques. 250 cases made. Medium bodied, with complex flavors and aromas of black cherries and plums with notes of dried herbs, licorice, violets and earth and bold, dry tannins on the finish. The few extra years of bottle age this has on it have really helped softened the tannin and acid- Aglianico is known to improve in the cellar. Dark in both aroma and flavor profile, but surprisingly fresh and juicy in the mouth. Pairs nicely with lamb, pork and eggplant with cheese and marinara. Campanian husband and wife and winemaking duo, Aurelia Fabrizio and Ercole Zarrella, bottled their first estate grown vintage in 2004 and immediately started winning Tre Bicchieri awards.
