100% Nero d'Avola, the workhorse red grape of the island. This wine earned a coveted Tre Bicchieri award from the Gambero Rosso in 2015- basically the wine Oscars of Italy and a huge achievement.. Fermented and then aged 3 to 4 months in temperature-controlled stainless steel. Aged an additional 3 to 4 months in bottle before release. This wine has earned a 3-Glass rating from Gambero Rosso on multiple occasions. Perfect wine for pizza, burgers, pasta with tomato sauce, and grilled meats. Will also pair well with eggplant dishes and lasagna. Notes of ripe red fruit, bramble, herbs, olive, spice, floral notes, juicy blackberry and raspberry and cocoa all supported by dusty, medium tannins.
