Lanciola, a fantastic producer in Tuscany based just outside of Florence, is an historic estate that was purchased by the Guarnieri family and they have been dedicated to improving the estate and making the most of the excellent vineyard plots that they own by improving things both in the vineyard and in the cellar. 95% Sangiovese with 5% Colorino and Canaiolo. Fermented in small stainless still vats. Wine is aged in French oak barrels of 25 and 35 hl for a period of up to 18 months with an additional ageing in bottle for at least 6 months. Bold and expressive, offering cherry pie, currant, leather, tobacco, earth and iron flavors, supported by a tightly woven matrix of tannins. This lingers with an aftertaste of pure fruit and graphite.
