2015 Ser Winery Syrah 'Coastview Vineyard'

100% organic Syrah from the Coastview Vineyard, located at over 2200 feet in the Gabilan Mountains with a commanding view of the Salinas Valley and Monterey Bay. Planted on decomposed granite and veins of limestone, Coastview Vineyard shares many similarities with Calera’s famous Mt. Harlan vineyards just a few miles to the north. Bottled unfined and unfiltered with minimal sulphur. This awesome bottling is the last of what’s left of the final vintage of this wine, and it’s singing! Dried meat, leather, deep, dark fruit and perfectly integrated oak notes. Mouthfilling but not overly ripe at all.  Nicole Walsh is a Santa Cruz legend- she has worked with Randall Graham at Bonny Doon since 2001. This is her personal project, focused on coastal vineyards, unusual varietals and minimal cellar intervention.
