Giuseppe Quintarelli was a legendary maverick in the Veneto. You can’t really compare these wines to any other in the region, or anywhere else in the world. They really are in a class and a category all their own. Only produced in exceptional years, this is made of handpicked fruit that is allowed to dry naturally into raisins over a period of months. Fermented with native yeasts and aged in Slavonian oak for seven years, this is a wine for the long haul. It’s in no rush. The mouthfeel is especially impressive, and it brings a heightened level of texture and life to the wine. Black fruit and dried plum segue to spice, campfire ash, camphor and grilled herb. A silky and polished mouthfeel is capped by a powerful 16.5% alcohol content. Decant to drink now or age for 50+ years.
