Small, but mighty! This is not one of the “Big Port Houses”, but it’s reputation for quality is undeniable. Orignially founded in 1863, under the name Corrêa Ribeiro e Filhos and bore the warrant of a longstanding supplier to the Portuguese Royal Family. One of the few port houses that produces its own “aguardiente” (spirit) to fortify their wines - and it’s some of the best!
95 points, Wine Enthusiast. "Garnet ruby color still with bluish reflections. At the aromatic level, it stands out the exuberant and very mature fruit, enlivened by the notes of spices like black pepper, in an intense and elegant experience. In the mouth, in turn, it appears bulky, full bodied, but still fresh and nervous. With firm and velvety tannins, it materializes in a long end of mouth and already very pleasant."
